We respond to calls for service as quickly as possible. Calls that come into the Communication Center are prioritized. Life threatening calls that involve a danger to someone's personal safety are “Priority 1” calls. When an emergency call comes to the Communication Center, a dispatcher immediately starts gathering the information so we can quickly dispatch deputies or other first responders to the scene. The dispatcher collects additional information from the caller to provide the best possible response. Please know that answering the dispatcher's questions does not delay our response.
Our Communications Center is equipped with radios, telephones, and computers that enable reliable communication to every location in the county. We are in constant contact with the Deputies and other first responders. Dispatchers also process all walk-ins for deputy and first responder requests for service. The Canadian County Sheriff's Office Communications staff is a dedicated group of hard working professionals who can be counted on to assist the citizens of Canadian County whenever help is needed.
